Video: Rallying looks coolest from a drone's-eye view

28th September 2017
Ethan Jupp

There are obvious challenges that may befall a videographer trying to film Rallying over other track-based forms of motorsport  chief among them being the car’s tendency to turn whatever they’re driving across into a blinding smokescreen as they batter through a stage.

What clever solution could save a filmmaker's grace? Why a drone of course! The guys at the FIA World Rally Championship are bang on it with drones attacking from above, capturing the action as the cars fire the wilderness out at all angles from under their wheels. What better vantage point to watch as a Fiesta WRC turns silky white snow drifts into a thick mist?
