How can Kei cars be some of the slowest cars ever sold but also some of the coolest? Well, they’re quirky, interesting and normally, look really cool. We’ve rounded up ten of our favourites in no particular order.
They range from the shrunken supercar that is the Autozam AZ-1, to the original Suzuki Jimny. From the Daihatsu Copen, to a Caterham. Yes, there’s a Caterham that can technically be run in Japan as a Kei car. These little runarounds have been offering manoeuvrability, cheap running costs and personality to the Japanese people for over 60 years. Packing not even 100 horsepower, they manage to be some of the most fun cars you can own. Which would you take?
