Video: Revs Institute is Porsche history heaven | Goodwood Masters

It’s a collection that currently stands at 112 cars, which has been cautiously curated to tell the story of the world’s greatest cars, beginning with the Panhard et Levassor Wagonette from 1896, and finishing with the McLaren almost a full century later.

On display in the Revs Institute Museum, each of these cars has a history, a reason for being included, and the place is kept alive by volunteers whose passion it is to teach people about these wonderful machines.

We spoke to several of the people behind the Revs Institute to understand more about how it came to be, and why this place is so special. It’s a true treasure trove of historic cars and racing cars, and certainly a place you must visit if you ever have the chance, but that isn’t the only way you can get to see a lot of this collection in the metal.

You see, unlike some museums who lock their cars away in glass boxes never to move again, the Rev Institute sends its cars out to race whenever possible. We’ve in fact seen many of these cars in action at Goodwood events over the years, and they’re driven as they were designed to be in period.
