For more than 20 years, Maxted-Page Limited has been developing a reputation as one of the world’s leading centres of expertise for historic Porsches. With a list of clients from all over the globe, this small engineering company based in rural Essex has a major influence in several of the world’s most prestigious classic Porsche racing series, and has hosted some true legends of motorsport in its workshop.

Lee Maxted-Page founded the business in 2002, and made an early decision to specialise in Porsches to nail down their niche and maximise potential for catching the big fish, the likes of the 1977 Le Mans-winning Porsche 936, which the team is currently busy restoring to that race-winning spec.

It’s the attention to detail that you notice in instances like this. We learned about the hours of painstaking research to trace the car back to its roots, before ensuring that the work carried out was as accurate to the original as possible. It’s clearly a responsibility this team takes incredibly seriously. No wonder owners trust Maxted-Page with their cars.

But that gem is hidden among a sea of iconic cars from the GT2 era of 993s, 996s and 997s, to the earliest 2.0-litre 911s that now race all over the road, some of which you may recognise from the 2023 Fordwater Trophy at the Goodwood Revival.

There’s a showroom, too, if you’re interested, with another remarkable collection of cars for sale: a 911 RSR that raced in the World Endurance Championship in the GTE Class, and a 911 R to name just a couple.

And that’s just what was in the shop while we were filming. Maxted-Page also mentioned work the team did on the 1973 Targa Florio RSR, and future plans to start work on a 917. It’s an impressive portfolio indeed.
