The Absolut specifically has managed to hit 250 from zero in under 20 seconds, and go from zero to 250 and then stop again in under 30 seconds. Who needs Ehra Lessien, hey?
Indeed, the Jesko Absolut follows in the footsteps of the Regera, which set records for 0-400kph-0 and 0-250mph-0 in 2023. The Jesko beat the Regera by 0.98 and 1.33 seconds, doing the runs in a respective 27.83 and 28.27 seconds. More incredible than the times themselves? The fact that in the braking phase alone, the Jesko was actually slower to stop than the Regera, given it had no movable air brake to aid it.
That means that between the light-speed transmission and the incredible 1,600PS (1,177kW) from the E85-fuelled twin-turbo V8, it was two seconds quicker, give or take in the acceleration phase. Indeed, its acceleration from 0-400kph took just 18.82 seconds, or 1.84 seconds quicker than the Regera. The Jesko takes just 19.2 seconds to hit a full-bodied 250mph.
The Jesko was always by our reckoning the likeliest of all the pretenders to the VMAX throne, not only to actually make it happen but do so in the shortest time. These records are very much on the road to that, with Christian von Koenigsegg saying that tyre testing and approval are all that stand in the way. “We’re hoping that can happen in the very near future as well,” the boss said in relation to a full-on top speed run.
"This record run validated the accuracy of the simulated and calculated performance of the Jesko Absolut, which gives us great confidence in its ability to outright be the fastest, fully homologated production car in the world. Now it is all down to tire testing, development, and approval, before we finally can make an attempt at that record.
“In parallel, we plan to see what kind of records the Jesko Attack can achieve, given its astonishing track performance."
