Video: Kevin Estre's terrifying GT3 RS Nürburgring hot lap

We know him now as one of Porsche’s 963-wielding hot-shoes in the World Endurance Championship, but Kevin Estre carved out his place in this world on the Nürburgring, in a GT3. The man has demonstrated over the years that he simply has no fear, or at the very least, a deep knowledge of the Green Hell’s finest idiosyncrasies. So imagine being able to jump in for a passenger ride…

Well, imagine no more, for in today’s video, that’s exactly what we’re doing. The person jumping in really doesn’t know what he’s in for, given this is his first experience of the track. As Estre funnels the 991.2 GT3 RS out onto the track and pushes all the way through the revs, the passenger looks across with a small amount of realisation, of exactly what’s about the happen. What follows is a lap right on the edge, with Estre exploring a line known only to the most experienced, hopping curbs, catching slides, lifting where others would brake and staying flat where others would lift. And all the while, he keeps up a casual conversation with his pasenger. He was and is one of the great masters of the Nürburgring.
