Sometimes for Elevenses we go down the glorious and numerous rabbit holes of motorsport, past, present, high- and low-end. Sometimes, though, you just can’t beat a supercar joyride to a bit of lunchtime escapism. That’s exactly what we’ve got for you today: the top tier of McLaren-badged savagery you can buy and an unlimited stretch of autobahn on which it’s unleashed.

Yes, it’s the 765LT, presented here in a subtle black specification. There’s nothing subtle about the way it performs though. Look no further for a car to stretch the skin cells on your face with a flick of a gear paddle and the prod of a pedal. If not for the persistent traffic present on the autoroutes, we would no doubt have seen well beyond the 185mph it managed in this particular stint, which it hit with consummate ease...
