The TSR-GT is Zenvo's 263mph supercar sendoff
It seems subtlety is the order of the day at the moment, with smooth, clean, wingless supercars like the GMA T.50, Koenigsegg CC850 and Pagani Utopia proliferating. Now Zenvo is joining this more understated boutique squad, with what could be the final iteration of its TSR supercar. This is the TSR-GT.
Already sold out, the last TSR-GT could signify the conclusion of production for the TSR line of cars, before Zenvo’s mystery hybrid machine swoops in to replace it. It bins the crazy centripetal wing of the Zenvo TSR-S for a more subtle fixed unit. The wing joins special aero disc wheels for a combined reduction in drag and improvement in high-speed stability. To us, the GT marks a pleasing aesthetic return to where the Zenvo story began, with the crazy yet elegant ST1 we first saw all the way back in 2007.
As a result of these alterations and the reduced drag, the TSR-GT is capable of a limited 263mph top speed, as opposed to the 202mph top speed of the TSR-S. That top speed is also facilitated by a longer final drive in the helical-cut dog box.
The TSR-GT will also be the most powerful Zenvo to date, with a near-200PS boost 1,377PS (1,012kW) coming from the TS Power pack on its 5.8-litre twin-supercharged flat-plane crank V8. The pack includes a revised inlet plenum and exhaust manifold, for improved volumetric efficiency in the engine.
On the inside, the less racey theme continues. What was once all bare carbon and Alcantara in the TSR-S, is more leather-clad in the TSR-GT. There are even noise-reducing floor mats.
As for what’s next from Zenvo? With just three TSR-GTs set to be made, a replacement beckons, with the marque confirming that its all-new model is to be revealed next summer. As we wave goodbye to the TSR, we look forward to hearing more on this exciting new Zenvo chapter, which Zenvo founder Troels Vollertson revealed to us last year, would involve a “high-revving mid-sized engine” as well as hybridisation.
