This electric Aston Martin DB6 would make Q proud
Q would be proud: a classic Aston Martin powered entirely by batteries, the perfect stealth machine for the spy with everything. It’s the latest from Lunaz, the Silverstone-based, David Beckham-backed outfit that is rapidly establishing itself as the top people’s electrification converters.
Lunaz has already ditched combustion power and put the batteries into classic Bentley, Rolls-Royce, Jaguar and Range Rover models, and this week turns its attention to Aston Martin. First out of the blocks is an electric DB6 (pictured) but the firm says DB4 and James Bond-style DB5 can be converted as well. The DB6 is a million dollars (plus taxes), the 4 and 5 would cost more.
Lunaz’s first electrified Aston, the DB6, comes with a range of 255 miles from its 120kWh lithium-ion batteries and acceleration that is said to be ”brisk”. The company says its in-house developed electric powertrain’s instant torque and silent delivery “perfectly augment” the DB6’s grand tourer credentials.
As with Lunaz’s other projects, the plug-in DB6 has been subjected to a bare metal restoration before being re-engineered for electric power. Lunaz says brakes, suspension and steering are uprated while the cabin boasts modern air conditioning and the latest infotainment, navigation systems and wi-fi connectivity – all “sensitively incorporated”, they claim.
With a team of 100 engineers, restoration specialists and craftspeople working at Lunaz HQ at the Silverstone Technology Park, Lunaz claims to be the largest electrification specialist of its type. The DB6 project was overseen by the former design director from Aston Martin Q-Branch who worked across Aston projects for James Bond movies.

One of the investors in the company who shares that vision is David Beckham. I’m proud to be involved with a talented team that is leading the field in creating sustainable solutions.”
Order books for the electric DB6 are now open and first deliveries promised for the third quarter of 2023.
