A new neo-retro project inspired by the outlawed mid-engined WRC Group B Lancia Delta S4 has been announced by Rome-based Angelelli Automobili, the firm being named after an amalgamation of the Company founders’ surnames. Angellelli’s new ‘Hintegrale’ is a modernised reinterpretation of the Lancia Delta S4, designed by Davide Angelelli, taking inspiration from the angular profile of the classic Delta and the wide lateral air intakes of the S4. The Hintegrale’s wild coachwork has gained few extra curves, with its lights taking on an unprecedented shape both at front and rear.

The car’s interior remains far mystery so far as it has yet to be revealed, although it will use fully digital instrumentation. The Hintegrale’s monohull structure is planned to be constructed using 3D printing in an aluminium and titanium alloys and thanks to a dozen moving elements. The car’s aerodynamic supports will vary from 450 kg to 750 kg, depending on its specification.

The heart of the fifty Hintegrales planned to be built will be a 1.8-litre turbocharged four-cylinder delivering 280PS (206kW) between the four wheels. Hybrid configurations are also planned with two electric rear-axle motors as options, offering up to 550PS (410kW) for 0-62mph in just 1.9 seconds according to Angelelli. The electrification will also extend to 25 fully electric versions, too. The planned price of the first production Hintegrales is set to be around £900,000.
