In a move we’re sure isn’t timed to clash with the launch of a new Ferrari, Lamborghini has announced the Huracán STO SC 10° Anniversario to celebrate ten years of the company’s Squadra Corse motorsport division.

Inspired by the Lamborghini SC63 set to compete in the WEC and IMSA next year, this new Huracán gets Verde Mantis and Nero Noctis paint, complete with a tricolour that runs the length of its body panels.

The doors and rear spoiler also get Squadra Corse 10° Anniversario logos to celebrate a team that has won three consecutive GTD class wins in the 24 Hours at Daytona and more than 50 titles overall in the GT3 category. A full carbon package provides the motorsport trimmings.

The competition theme carries through to the inside, where you’ll find a carbon-fibre floor and an aluminium roll cage. The seats are finished in Nero Ade Alcantara with Verde Fauns stitching and get racy four-point harnesses, and there’s a carbon-fibre build number plaque on the rear firewall.

Like a good macchiato, the 10° Anniversario isn’t all froth and no substance. Unleashed for the first time on a road-going Lambo, the Squadra Corse motorsport department adds to a standard 640PS (471kW) rear-wheel drive STO with a pair of tiny ‘flick’ bonnet spoilers and a rear wing angled three degrees steeper, which combine to increase the car’s front and rear downforce. Presumably, not by much.

News of the car’s new dampers will be more exciting if you’ve ever experienced the wonders of a set of motorsport shocks. They replace the adjustable dampers found on the standard car and offer manual four-way adjustment for rebound and compression. The shock and wheel assemblies also get treated to a set of Bridgestone tyres with a new compound developed specifically for the car.

The final touch is an Akrapovic titanium exhaust that should make the Lambo’s V10 sound more resonant than ever and bring mild performance gains, although Lamborghini doesn’t claim it.

Lamborghini has yet to say how many will be made, you can bet it won't be many, or how much the 10° Anniversario will cost, but you can expect to pay more than £250,000.
