Pagani teases new Huayra Roadster BC

Where some manufacturers release terrible low-resolution silhouettes and offer them to the world as teasers, Pagani simply builds a car, throws on a cover, has a photo taken and calls it a job done. Well it’s new car time for Pagani once again, and this is what we’ve got to go by. The car? The forthcoming Huayra Roadster BC.

Draped in a figure-hugging black cloth, with its LED headlights peering through the fabric, the photo leaves very little to the imagination. First seen in testing last year, this teaser image suggests that the launch of the topless version of the Huayra BC is imminent.

And while the model appears to share lines with its hardtop counterpart, the caption ‘A tremendous science and design challenge’ suggests that there is a little more to it than meets the eye.

There are no details to speak of just yet, but we know from our own Pagani sources that the 6.0-litre, twin-turbocharged V12 engine will produce 745bhp and 1,100Nm (811lb ft) of torque, making it more powerful than the standard Huayra Roadster. We also know that just 30 cars will leave the factory gates in Modena, all of which have already have customer allocations.

And the name? BC is a tribute to the property developer Benny Caiola who died in 2010. Aside from being an avid Ferrari collector, Caiola was Pagani’s first customer and a personal friend of Horacio Pagani.

Chances are the BC Roadster will be revealed at the Monterey Car Week on the 9th of August, but until then all we can do is wait…
