The Bonhams|Cars Zoute Sale cleared 68 lots totalling £17.8million, headed by a red-on-red 2010 Mercedes-Benz SLR McLaren Stirling Moss that sold on the hammer for £2.7million.

The SLR was the last of just 75 cars produced, built in tribute to the 300 SLR that Stirling Moss drove in the 1950s. This car had less than 50 miles on the clock, unique red paint with gold brake callipers, and a red leather interior with yellow stitching. With a 5.4-litre supercharged V8 producing 650PS (478kW) and no windscreen, it's worth all of those £2.7 million.

A 1956 Porsche 550RS selling for £2.1million took the second-placed slot at the sale. It was one of just 90 cars built and one of ten that raced at Le Mans with extensive period documentation to prove its racing history. Rebuilt by Porsche Zentrum Würzburg in 2000, the car came complete with photographs documenting the work. It's eligible for motorsport events like the Revival, Le Mans Classic and the Mille Miglia. Not a bad way to spend your days off.

A 2011 Aston Martin One-77 concluded the trio of big hitters selling for £1.2million. As the first One-77 ever produced, this car was particularly special, with Bronze Pearl paint and Kestrel Tan leather with red-contrast stitching. Options like a reversing camera, 20-inch wheels, gold brake callipers and rose-gold switchgear were £35,000 options for the original owner.

The show featured several other highlights, including a 2007 Mercedes-Benz SLR McLaren 722 Edition Coupé (with a windscreen) that sold for £630,000 and a Lamborghini Countach Anniversary that sold for £440,000 at no reserve.

A 2014 Spyker C8 Spyder that sold for £480,000 was another interesting lot because it was the last car to roll off the production line. The car featured a 4.2-litre Audi V8 and 186mph top speed, and this particular example has a delivery mileage and generously specified options list.

Those with a passion for classic GTs would have had their appetites whet by a 1966 Lamborghini 400 GT that sold for £360,000 and had just been subject to a £190,000 restoration.

Finally, there were a couple of track-born weapons in the shapes of a 2010 Porsche 997 GT2 RS (£330,000) and a 1974 BMW 3.0 CSL 'Batmobile' (£340,000). Formerly allocated to works driver Hans-Joachim Stuck and restored in 2017, the BMW has since been invited to Villa d'Este Concours.

Philip Kantor, Bonhams|Cars International Chairman based in Belgium, said: "We're thrilled to continue to see our partnership with The Zoute Grand Prix flourish year after year, elevating each edition to unprecedented levels of success."

Gregory Tuytens, Bonhams|Cars Head of Sale based in Belgium, added: "This year, we curated an extraordinary collection of cars, spanning all eras. The vibrant response from the crowd was testament to our selection. The auction room buzzed with anticipation and excitement, as eager bidders engaged in lively competition."
