Maserati announce V8 Levante range UK arrival

Announced at the Geneva Motor Show earlier this year, the Trofeo will make its public dynamic debut on the Hillclimb at next month’s Festival of Speed presented by Mastercard, before deliveries of both models begin in the autumn.

The luxury SUVs share a 3.8-litre V8 twin-turbo engine, with the Trofeo – one of the fastest SUVs ever built – delivering 580hp at 6,250rpm, accelerating from 0-62mph in 4.1 seconds and boasting a top speed of 186 mph. Meanwhile, the GTS will put out 530hp.

Power aside, both models are dripping with tech, with the range-topping Levante Trofeo boasting Maserati’s Integrated Vehicle Control System along with a new race driving mode and launch control.

Externally, the Trofeo is identifiable by a new aluminium bonnet with dual vents, 21-inch forged aluminium wheels, a carbon-fibre front splitter, front grille blades, side skirts and rear valance, along with Trofeo badging. The GTS restyling focuses on the lower front fascia and the rear bumper, meanwhile, giving it a more aggressive appearance over non-V8 Levante models.

Complementing the Trofeo and GTS is the 50-limited Trofeo Launch Edition, available in three exclusive colours of ‘Blu Emozione matte’, ‘Giallo Modenese’ and ‘Rosso Magma’, with matte carbon-fibre weave interior trim and black leather seats with either red, blue or yellow contrast stitching.

The models’ order books opened yesterday, with pricing starting at £104,900 for the GTS, £124,900 for the Trofeo and £159,900 for the Trofeo Launch Edition.
