Lucid Gravity ultra-luxury EV SUV teased

Lucid has revealed its second production model, due to join the fabulous Air all-electric luxury saloon in 2024. Meet the Lucid Gravity, a large all-electric luxury SUV, here to take on the Hummer EV, Tesla Model X and Rivian R1S, as well as the Range Rover and Bentley Bentayga.

Recognisably a Lucid, the Gravity does an impressive job of translating the cool, calm, precisely hewn design language of the Air onto a bulkier silhouette. Up front, the nose-spanning ribbon of light and metalwork returns, over what is a taller nose. Likewise the clean width-spanning lighting of the Lucid Air is pasted on at the rear, though the full design is yet to be seen.

The Gravity should be a full-sized, three-row seven-seat SUV when it arrives in 2024. That’s not to say it won’t pack impressive performance, though. The likelihood is it’ll share a number of battery and motor options with the Air, including possibly those of the 1,126PS (828kW) Dream Edition. Lucid claim’s too that like the Air (though perhaps not beating it) it’ll have world-class range figures, thanks in part to the Air’s proven powertrain tech and of course, class-leading aerodynamics.

Like the Air, the Gravity will feature a cockpit that’s as beautifully designed as it is trimmed, with high-tech touch controls and connectivity. It’ll also be naturally lit, with a next-generation Glass Cockpit.

Based on what little of the Gravity we’ve seen so far, and what we know of the Air, it’s shaping up to be a highly desirable machine, even as a large SUV. More news on the Gravity – including hard figures and better images – as we have it.
