Land Rover is celebrating its 75th Birthday with a special edition Defender. Say hello to the 75th Limited Edition Land Rover Defender.

Distinctive in Grasmere Green (with matching wheels), the 75th Defender invokes the rough and ready tin-can Land Rovers of old, which were originally designed to be little more than farm hands and army run-arounds. It comes on all terrain tyres, while a 75 Years graphic, Ceres Silver bumpers and privacy glass complete the package on the outside.

On the inside the Cross Car Beam is also finished in Grasmere Green, evoking the original Land Rover, whose cabin was body coloured because there wasn’t really much of a cabin to speak of, in terms of trim. The Seats in the 75th meanwhile, are finished in Resist Ebony.

Today’s Defender is of course as accomplished as a road car as it is off-road, pairing refinement with the rugged character Land Rover enthusiasts love. The 75th will be available with the P400e hybrid and D300 mild-hybrid powertrains. All 75th Defenders will be based on the HSE, meaning the 3D surround camera, configurable terrain response, Meridian stereo and more come as standard. 75th Defenders will be available in both 90 and 110 formats, with dealers taking orders now.

“Since revealing the new Defender, customers around the globe have fallen in love with it and demand remains extremely strong,” said Stuart Frith, the Defender’s Lifecycle Chief Engineer."

“This new Limited Edition captures the spirit of the past 75 years, with its colour and detailing, and fuses it with innovative new technology such as Hybrid Electric power, Configurable Terrain Response, software over the air updates and unrivalled all-terrain capability.”
