Karma has revealed its latest model, the Karma Ivara GT-UV, which will join a line-up that includes the range-extender Revero saloon, Kaveya EV coupé and Gyesera EV saloon, although none are currently on sale.

A design study rather than a finished product, the Ivara GT-UV is an electric SUV that will be offered as a pure EV and an EV with a petrol range extender bolted on to act as a generator. The 'GT-UV' name stands for Grand Tourer Utility Vehicle, suggesting the Ivara will be a luxurious four-seater with SUV-like interior space and car-like performance but with a slither of off-road ability thrown into the mix.

Styling comes courtesy of Karma's new Comet Line design language, its smooth lines shared with the rest of the firm's notional line-up.

The Ivara also features self-repairing paint which uses microscopic segmentation to fill in light scratches and grazes on the bodywork.

The Karma isn't predicted to go on sale until at least 2027, and you can expect the car to be priced to compete with premium sporty SUVs like the Porsche Cayenne Coupé, which currently starts from a shade under £90,000.
