Hyundai teases new performance N models

Hyundai’s N performance brand has blossomed to the delight of all enthusiasts over the last few years, to the point that now it has its own ’N’ day – a day when Hyundai is expected to give us a glimpse into the brand’s future, as electrification takes over. The short of it? Hyundai Ioniq 5 and 6 N variants could be on the way, along with a high-performance sportscar/supercar.

A number of teasers have been shown, two of which clearly show high-performance versions or the Ioniq 5 and 6, the former definitely in road-going spec. The Ioniq 6 meanwhile, which is freshly revealed in standard form with specs yet to be revealed, could be more of a speculative track-only item, given the aggressive aero we can see atop the 6’s distinctive light bar-covered rump.

The third teaser however is perhaps the most interesting. It’s a car under a cover, with nothing but the silhouette on display. At a glance, it could be a Ferrari F40 or a Group 5 special production racer. But no, this is a brand-new Hyundai, likely a high-performance sportscar – potentially also track-only.

We can only assume it won’t be long before we see it in full, given how open and honest Hyundai has been in the past about its prototypes, including the RM ‘Racing Midship’ series of machines. We look forward to seeing what they’re cooking up. The future of Hyundai ’N’ looks bright.
