The Honda e, one of the most hotly anticipated new cars of the past decade, will be priced from £26,160, with the order books open from today (September 10th).

Seen for the first time in the UK at the 2019 Festival of Speed presented by Mastercard (with Red Bull Formula 1 driver Alexander Albon behind the wheel), the Honda e will be available in two grades. It’s the standard, ‘entry level’ car with that very tempting price, and it’ll be powered by a 100kW electric motor.

Above that sits the ‘Advance’ model, priced from £28,660, which will come with a little extra equipment and a 113kW electric motor. It’s the Honda e Advance that’s available to order from today, with the order books opening for the standard Honda e in early 2020. Both prices include the £3,500 you’ve-bought-an-electric-car-pat-on-the-back grant from the government.

Why should you care about the Honda e? Because it’s front-engined, rear-wheel-drive, and one of the most advanced cars Honda has ever created, and that’s saying something. It is also, undoubtedly, incredibly cool. We can’t wait to get behind the wheel.
