Explore the North Pole in a Lamborghini

Just when you think you’ve seen it all someone designs a Lamborghini Urus Arctic truck. That’s right. Forget cross-country skis, huskies or snow shoes, if you’re making a trip to the arctic you’ll be wanting one of these.

As the majority of global new car markets consistently report sharp sales declines due to the on-going impact of the worldwide COVID-19 pandemic (now amplified by the current microchip shortage), SUVs and crossovers continue buck the downward trend, maintaining their inexorable growth at the expense of more traditional passenger cars across all market sectors. The relentless progression of SUVs now even stretches up into the rarified top-end ultra-luxury saloon and supercar segments, with exclusive all-wheel-drive models such as the Rolls-Royce Cullinan, Bentley Bentayga and Lamborghini Urus now seriously affecting the dream car category, with the once rock-solid demand and used values of most top-end dream car exotica (with the exception of Ferrari) now dropping.

Pioneering Mexican 3D rendering creator Abimelec Arellano of Abimelec Design has been among the first to recognise the growth in popularity and potential versatility of this new breed of exclusive premium off-roaders, generating what he dubs the ‘Arctic Truck’ Urus.

Arellano has created extreme concept variants of both the Rolls-Royce and Bentley SUVs before, but his latest truck is an intense version of the already flamboyant Urus, designed to tackle the harshest of cold climates.

The raised Abimelec Design Urus SUV features gigantic custom wheels and balloon tyres to enable it to take-on even the most extreme and demanding of bumpy routes and arctic tracks, with a readily accessible roof rack added to carry a spare tyre, snow/sand tracks and extra fuel jerrycans, just in case of emergencies.

In addition, the Mexican designer has drawn on Lamborghini’s heritage to help create his extreme Urus SUV, taking inspiration from the Sant’Agata marque’s imposing 1980s LM002 with wild flared wheel arches to house the massive off-road wheel and tyre combination, mixed with a Countach-inspired colour scheme, matching bronze wheels with ‘Italian Racing Red’ coachwork. There’s even a luxury tan leather interior to make exploring the Pole more comfortable!
