An all-electric Range Rover for £250k
Despite sharing a name with a dreadful German Eurobeat recording artist, Lunaz seems to be leading the charge (sorry) into the electrification of high-end classic vehicles.
The Silverstone-based outfit began with the Jaguar XK120 and says it now also offers XK140 and XK150 conversions for both coupe and droptop models. Also prominently featured on its website and Instagram are gargantuan Rolls-Royce Phantom and Cloud conversions as well as original Bentley Flying Spurs.
Its latest offering remains British but is nonetheless a radical departure as the company is offering 50 Range Rover Classic conversions with a shocking (sorry again) £245,000 price tag. For that you get your choice of a two door or four door car which can be specified in one of three ways: Town, Country or Safari.
Town is all about the driver and passenger luxury and comfort with the option of a built-in bar for rear seat occupants. Country spec has fully upgraded suspension, brakes and four-wheel-drive system with the opportunity of “a boot space for the transportation of equipment and refreshments for field sports”. Safari spec recreates the bespoke convertibles built by coachbuilders when the Range Rover was new and which are now vanishingly rare.
All models receive modern infotainment and climate control systems as part of the comprehensive rebuild process. Lunaz doesn’t give any details of its proprietary powertrain and battery but hopefully none of it uses the original Lucas electrics.
