Manthey Racing, Porsche’s skunkworks semi in-house race outfit, has got its hands on a 992 Porsche 911 GT3. The new Manthey performance kit adds some tasty kit, for those who think the standard GT3 isn’t hardcore enough…
The first performance kit for the 992 model range involves development of the car’s aerodynamics, suspension, brakes and wheels. The biggest change is the Manthey four-way adjustable suspension kit, which is joined by the OM-1 lightweight wheels, upgraded brake lines and pads.
Aero upgrades include an enhanced splitter and rear diffuser, added canards at the front, a carbon wing and aerodiscs for the wheels – very Group C. Needless to say, we expect there’s more to come from Manthey on the 992-generation GT cars, given how far they went with the 991s. We can’t wait to see it.
“The team at Porsche in Weissach presented us with a big challenge when they produced the new GT3,” said Stefan Mages, head of development.
“Our goal of improving the performance of the Porsche GT models even further for track use, without making too many changes to the car’s essential DNA, has meant a lot of work for us with the new model. Alongside the performance, I’m also really pleased with the car’s appearance.”
The new performance kit for the 992 GT3 from Manthey racing will be available from the second quarter of 2022 and does not invalidate the standard Porsche warranty. Tempted?
