Video: Remote control drifting is like real life Micro Machines

Drifting can be bloody expensive. Nevermind the buying the car, developing and building it, you then have the consumables. Fuel obviously doesn’t last very long. And tyres? The sport is dedicated to committing them to the atmosphere. Fear not, though, drifting enthusiasts without quite the means. There are plenty of ways to get involved, either virtually via sim racing, or indeed via remote controlled cars.

It’s the latter we’re looking at here, as a large group tackle a miniature track with their RC drift cars, pulling some spectacular shapes as they slither their way around the circuit. Okay, there isn’t the howl of a 2JZ or roar of a V8, there’s no billowing smoke plumes and no belching exhaust waste gates, but it is the ballet of drifting made accessible.
