Video: Onboard a Dakar desert blast with Ken Block

Extreme E plans to race everywhere it can, with nothing standing in its way. That’s the joy of long distance rallying, the terrain can be tougher, the distances more, er, extreme and the cars even more mental than standard rallying. It’s why the Dakar rally draws so many people in each year and why Baja continues to be massive.

At this year’s Dakar rally, the first in its new home of Saudi Arabia, Extreme E brought along its new car, the Extreme E Odyssey 1, to show off and join in with the desert action. They needed a driver though, so who better than our old friend Ken Block? A man who has never been known to be unwilling to give something a go. And we can all ride along with him as he tackles the rough, unforgiving terrain of the Arabian desert. It just shows that electric cars really don’t have any real restrictions.
