It's almost time for that one time of the year when everyone wakes up and remembers that rally raid exists. While it's an ongoing form of motorsport through the year, much like many forms of racing there's one event that overshadows the whole season: the Dakar rally is back.

There are some changes for 2020 (for one thing it's moved to the other side of the globe), but for many this incredible event remains a bit of a far off mystery no matter how amazing the footage they see seems. Well, now is your chance for a quick lesson in what to look out for.

It starts out with the thing that makes Dakar so special – its incredible history. Moves on to the switches of location and then runs you quickly through what goes down in this amazing event. From bikers flying through the desert completely alone, to mighty trucks smashing their way through the dunes. The 2020 event is not far away now, and we cannot wait.
