Have you ever woken up in the morning and thought steaming down a mountainside on a tiny tricycle would be a good idea? No, we haven’t either. But these lunatics have.
Yes, there are actually people in the world who play Mario Kart and think doing it in real life would be fun, minus a front wheel. And instead of eight competitors, as there is in the game, there are more than 20, all vying for the same piece of tarmac. They clearly have a good time, braking into the apex of hairpin turns, pedalling frantically to get up to speed, almost lying down to make themselves aerodynamic and fist-pumping other competitors, but does this not look absolutely terrifying? Yes, they have helmets and body armour, but guardrails and rocks aren’t all that forgiving…
