Video: 2017's WRC machines may be perfect

What made Group B awesome? Was it the ludicrous speed? The chattering turbos and whooshing dump valves? The incredible, muscular visuals? Or was it actually a combination of all of those properties?

Now we at GRR are not about to claim that Group B has returned with the advent of the latest set of WRC regulations – but we think the video above proves that the new, faster, noisier and altogether cooler machines are getting pretty close to it.

Filmed at the opening Monte Carlo round it shows some brilliant spectator-filmed views of the new beasts and, to give you even more proof of just how great they are, it's mixed in with footage of some of the old cars, still running on the same events.

With four different winners in the first four events and four manufacturers signed up for 2017 we're pretty sure this is set to be a golden time in the WRC.
