Racing cars coming through the first part of the swimming pool section at Monaco has always been a feast for the eye. And thankfully someone on YouTube has put together a collection of just F1 cars attacking this chicane.
Even the advent of extreme aerodynamic prowess on top level single seaters hasn’t managed to diminish how exciting these cars look as the flick from left to right to avoid a rapid entry into either a swimming pool or the Mediterranean. This clip is the perfect proof of that.
My favourite? I think Lewis Hamilton’s 2008 slide, absolutely glorious. And actually this is a good showcase of just how rules and regulations have slowed and sped up F1 cars over the last two decades. The 2017-onward cars seem unruffled, the pre-2009 cars look sketchy and the ones in between… well, an interesting time for F1.
