It’s a deal that will see Grosjean coincide his third season in IndyCar with his new responsibilities for the Iron Lynx Lamborghini squad, testing and developing the LMDh racer while also racing the team’s Huracan GTE EVO2 machine at a handful of events.

The French veteran will make his debut for Lamborghini at the 2023 Daytona 24 Hours in January, and is expected to compete in several other IMSA Sportscar Championship events through the year between his IndyCar schedule.

Lamborghini's LMDh programme has been gradually taking shape over the past few months, and Grosjean joins the previously confirmed pair of Mirko Bortolotti and Andrea Caldarelli, both experienced members of the Lamborghini GT line-up.

Testing of the Italian manufacturer’s hypercar is due to begin in the Spring, before its full debut in both IMSA and the World Endurance Championship, including a trip to Le Mans, in 2024.

Grosjean said: “It’s an honour to be joining Lamborghini, it’s such an iconic brand for everyone who loves cars, including myself and my kids.

“I am very excited about two things: the first is starting in Daytona with the GT3 which has been very successful in Daytona and a really good team like Iron Lynx and team-mates around me.

“And then, later in the year developing the new LMDh which is a beautiful car – I’m lucky to have seen it – and an incredible project in endurance. It’s becoming a very exciting category with all the constructors coming. With Lamborghini being such a successful brand, I hope we can do well in the future.”
