2024 WEC entry list
The full 37-car entry list for the 2024 World Endurance Championship has been announced, and it features a 19-strong grid of Hypercars made up of nine different manufacturers.
The remaining 18 spots on the list go to the newly introduced LMGT3 cars that will make their debut in the WEC in 2024, replacing the outgoing GTE cars that have raced in their current form since 2016.
As previously confirmed by the ACO, LMP2 cars will no longer compete in the WEC, although 15 spots will be made available for the category at the Le Mans 24 Hours.
In this new form, the Hypercar class promises to deliver a Formula 1-style competition with the long-awaited addition of four new cars to the entry list from BMW, Lamborghini, Isotta Fraschini and Alpine.
Other new additions to Hypercar include a second Jota Porsche 963 entry and an additional Ferrari 499P run by AF Corse and piloted by Robert Kubica. The ill-fated Vanwall and underfunded Glickenhaus teams will not return in 2024.
Meanwhile, the brand new LMGT3 class has also breathed new life into the field. From an ailing field made up of just four manufacturers in 2023, we will now see that doubled to eight, with Aston Martin, Corvette, Ferrari and Porsche joined by Ford, Lamborghini, Lexus and McLaren.
