Video: Raw LMP V12, V10, V8 noise at Goodwood
The Goodwood Motor Circuit is a very fast track, with only one chicane and one relatively slow-speed corner down at Lavant. We couldn’t help but whoop and cheer, then, when we discovered back in early 2019 that LMP cars, some of the fastest racing cars ever made, would be doing a demo at the 77th Members’ Meeting.
Granted, the LMP cars couldn’t complete flying laps, as there are many rules and regulations that must be adhered to when you’ve got racers out on track, particularly those fast enough to have won Le Mans… But even behind a safety car we were treated to a spectacle that seemed to plunge everyone at GRR into a dream.
There was a Bentley Speed 8, Peugeot 908X, Audi R8, Panoz LMP-1 Roadster-S, Dallara SP1-Judd and many more, and the sound of these cars was unbelievable. Truly a once in a lifetime experience. And thankfully, HistoricRacingHD was down by the chicane to capture the cars as they accelerated past the pits. Turn your speakers up, and beware of the Dallara’s V10…
