So naturally, Nicky is absolutely on it, putting the thumping V8 ‘60s sportscar onto its sidewalls on a flier around Spa. The view is incredible — we have the driver to the right, Eau Rouge and Raidillon to the left. The car is geared short for mega acceleration and for the perfect top speed around Spa, as the GT40 rattles the top of fifth gear just before the braking zone into La Combe.
Then we’re reminded this is a car you have to dance, using its weight and momentum to perfect the stance on corner entry and balance it throughout, before powering out on the exit. Yet all of that is moot, given we’d be happy to leave the video playing in the background and just enjoy the noise.
