What do you do when you have all the torque in the world? Simple: don't really bother to change gear too much, and still eat TVRs for breakfast.
Certainly that's what you do when you're in a mighty Panoz Esperante GTR-1 at the Spa Classic. And boy does that torque-monster of an engine sound the business!
Your quick Panoz tech lesson: it has NASCAR-derived 6.0-litre Ford V8, mounted in front of the driver, powering the rear wheels through a six-speed sequential 'box. That engine wouldn't manage to bring this bonkers GT1 machine real glory, but would result in one of the most iconic racing cars of all time.
Racing one at Spa must be an absolute joy, because, as you'll see, it's just a matter of putting your foot down and riding the giant wave of torque, all while enjoying the incredible noise.
