If you’re a fan of touring cars then brace your ears for a seriously heavy two-minute workout. Because this Alfa Romeo 156 revs to 9,000rpm and seems intent on breaking every wineglass within a ten-mile radius.
This 156 is the property of Diethard Sternad, and far from being the kind of owner who keeps his car tucked up in a warm, humidity regulated bag in a garage somewhere, he likes to get out and drive it as hard as he possibly can. Here he’s hustling his 975kg, 310PS (228kW), 2.0-litre monster up the Skradin Hillclimb in Croatia, and even though he’s in a saloon car and was competing against lighter, more purpose-built machines he still came home in third place overall. But considering he’s on three wheels on more than one occasion in this short video, should we really be surprised?
