Many of us can’t fathom how fast 300kmh – or 186mph – is. We’ve never been that fast, and likely never will. So, what do you do when you want to experience something, without the inherent risk? You turn to YouTube, of course.
And just our luck, following the 2019 Monza Historic, event organiser Peter Auto uploaded this incredible onboard, showing Hendrik Lindberg pushing a 1986 Sauber C8 on the long Monza straights.
Granted, Hendrik wasn’t pushing this C8 to its absolute limits. Weighing just 870kg and with a turbocharged, 5.0-litre V8, a C8 achieved the second highest top speed at Le Mans in 1985: 370km/h, or 230mph. But still, pushing a 30-year-old racing car to almost 300km/h round Monza isn’t something you’d do without taking at least one brave pill… Now, who fancies a hot lap?
