We count ourselves very lucky on our first visit to Daytona, to find ourselves a spitting distance from the grid at the start of the HSR Classic 24. It has all the pomp, ceremony and patriotism you so expect and so want. The prayer for a safe race, and singing of the US national anthem and the invocation could prick the hairs on the neck of the staunchest cynic.
The selection of ‘80s wedge weapons that opened official racing proceedings were a fitting launch point. We hope this selection of snaps from the front row of the show does the spectacle justice. For us, it was almost worth the trip out just for this.
