Poll: Pick your '50s sportscar beauty from the Monaco Historic

13th May 2018

You thought the Monaco Historic was all F1 and Grand Prix machinery? You thought wrong! A single sportscar race features on the bill to cater for those of a fared-in wheeled, panel-beaten, immaculately-styled, alloy-bodied disposition. A grid complete with machinery spanning 1952-1957 gives an impression of what every car-loving lad and lass must’ve lusted after in the period and what legends of the enduros wrestled with in pursuit of victory honours.

But which of the sportscars at the Monaco Historic is the prettiest/most desirable? Which would you take for a lap of the track and then a trundle round the city, and up the Riviera? Unlike the single-seaters, these cars are almost as much about style as they are performance. Talk to the owners and they're as much about showing off their curvaceous beauties as they do actually being competitive. So take your pick of the selection below – what is to be crowned Goodwood’s ultimate Monaco racing/cruising sportscar beauty?

Gordini t23
Ferrari 212 E
Aston Martin DB3S
Jaguar C-type
Maserati A6GCS
Veritas RS 2000
Frazer Nash Mille Miglia
