Fumes are in the air and the clatter of highly-strung historic race engines echoes around the paddocks: we’re under way at the Silverstone Classic!
Midday broke as the under 2.0-litre touring cars took to Silverstone for the John Fitzpatrick Trophy, while wrenching and spannering continued in the paddocks as preparers continued to tinker, readying their cars for their time on track. Following the touring cars, the pre war sportscars deployed in the paddocks ready for the Kidston Trophy. As we move through the day there is a fantastic variety of machinery filing through in preparation for their sessions. Is yours a Lotus Cortina, a Mini, an Alvis, or a Bentley?
