Gallery: Inside the paddocks of the Daytona Classic 24 2019

We've been here before haven't we. Over the Atlantic several thousand miles to the hot hot heat of Florida to see our friends at Historic Sportscar Racing. It must mean it's time for the Classic 24 at Daytona. But while one could become slightly jaded to the events over here when you turn up every year, our friends at HSR somehow manage to come up with some new and exciting content to keep us interested.

For us at GRR one of the main highlights each year of this trip is seeing cars racing wheel-to-wheel that we just wouldn't see racing at Goodwood. Some we may have seen at the Festival of Speed presented by Mastercard, but there's just something different about seeing cars on a circuit. Especially one as historic as Daytona.

Before we head onto the track and start brigning you loads of images, onboards and more from the action, we thought a tour of the paddocks was in order, as a quick demonstration of the variety of cars here. This year has seen an explosion in some of the newer cars, from the Daytona Prototypes of the Grand-Am and later IMSA series, LMP1 cars from Europe and a whole fleet of GT3 cars.

That't not all of course. We've also got the usual array of racers form the '60s and '70s and, of course in America, wherever there's racing there's a lot of Porsches.

We'll have loads more Daytona content for you over the coming days, so stay tuned!
