On February 1st 1969, as the decade was about to come to a close, the Lola T70 finally took victory in a major international race. In fact it took a one-two finish at the Daytona 24. After a day of racing Mark Donohue and Chuck Parsons's beautiful Lola T70 MkIIIB crossed the line victorious.
Group A at the Classic 24 at Daytona is filled with cars that would have raced alongside those mighty T70s as they swept to victory. And a few from around the era and into the 1970s. All of them icons, all of them looking pretty spectacular. Group A may not have started the whole event, that honour fell to the more modern cars of Group E in 2019, but there's no denying these were some of the most beloved cars of the weekend.
