Some cars you have to sing the praises of in spite of their shortcomings on track. They might not have a gleaming catalogue of victories, but they tell an interesting tale, stand out from the crowd or just look the part. It's good to champion the unappreciated sometimes, but that's not what's going on here. This Ferrari 246 S "Dino" is a proper repeatedly proven winner. It's been a regular competitor in pre-1961 sportscar racing in recent years, and of late its record has been virtually flawless.
May last year saw it take victory in the Stirling Moss Trophy at the Brands Hatch Masters Festival. Then in September they came to Goodwood and won the Sussex Trophy at the Revival. This Dino cleans up, and that's exactly what it did at Saturday's race.
Not to mention the fact that, just like most Ferraris of this era, it is absolutely beautiful, a stunning and proven racing machine. In other words, a proper Ferrari.
