Williams has revealed its livery for the 2024 Formula 1 season, a subtle evolution on last year’s car, with high expectations for the upcoming championship.

It’s called the FW46, an unsurprising name that continues the long-running lineage of the Williams team that began in 1974, and it showcases the progress that the team has made in recent seasons with several new sponsors taking prominent places on the bodywork.

After an extended period struggling at the very back of the grid, Williams’ cars would regularly appear devoid of sponsorships, but now, following a resurgence that has seen the team return to the midfield proper, this is very much a team on the up.

In terms of appearance, the FW46 livery retains the blue base, but cuts a sharper and cleaner appearance than the FW45, with a subtle orange stripe running along the length of the nose to accentuate the partnership with Gulf. The Duracell design is retained on the airbox, which is a welcome sight in our eyes.

Alex Albon and Logan Sargeant return to drive for Williams again in 2024. Albon was one of the stars of last season, as he regularly hustled his car into positions far above its quality. Sargeant on the other hand will be considered lucky by many to have retained his drive for the upcoming season, and will be under pressure to repay the confidence his team has put in him.

The Williams FW46 will be revealed in full when the F1 grid arrives for pre-season testing in Bahrain ahead of the opening round of the season on Saturday 2nd March.
