What’s it like driving an F1 car? Most of us will never know, and any who are insanely lucky enough to get behind the wheel of any Formula 1 machine will likely be at the helm of something old. That’s why videos like this, onboard footage from one of Yuki Tsunoda’s pre-season drives, are so much fun. Sure, the sound isn’t perfect, but with a camera inside Tsunoda’s helmet we can see exactly what he sees. And it’s fast.

Tsunoda is F1’s newest recruit, one of three rookies taking to the grid in 2021 and, born in the year 2000, the first F1 driver to be born this side of the Millennium. Racing the AlphaTauri AT02 alongside the now race-winner Pierre Gasly, 2018 Japanese F4 champion Tsunoda is the newest Red Bull junior to break into the F1 ranks.
