Gallery: The best of Grand Prix cars at 2017's Revival

09th October 2017
Ethan Jupp

From the Glover Trophy to the 1957 F1 demonstration, to the Richmond Trophy – even within the 1948-1966 timespan representative of the first era of motorsport at Goodwood, the variety of machinery that falls under the classification “Formula 1” is exceptional.

Such is the nature of the fastest most advanced breed of motorcars that the pace of development and evolution was exponential even then. The transition from front to mid-engine, the implementation of the 1.5-litre engines – it’s all there on-track at 2017’s Goodwood Revival. What’s your favourite era of F1 from Revival? What’s your favourite car? It might be a bit of a cliché but we’re still amazed by the lovely Vanwall and in awe of that magical moment with legendary period-driver Tony Brooks behind the wheel.
