03rd March 2021

This is the new Aston Martin AMR21 2021 F1 car, the first Aston Martin Formula 1 car in more than six decades, unveiled at the home of Aston Martin in Gaydon, UK.

The AMR21 is, like all 2021 F1 cars, an evolution of the 2020 machine. But unlike every other car on the grid, with the exception of the Alpine A521, this Aston Martin has an all new name and a completely new chassis designation, as last season the team and car were named Racing Point and RP20 respectively. The colour scheme has changed to British Racing Green, too, and the big news for the wider Aston Martin brand is that the Aston Martin wings are getting a makeover for only the 12th time in the company’s history.

Aston Martin’s driver line-up consists of four-time world champion Sebastian Vettel, having moved from Ferrari to Aston Martin, and Lance Stroll who stays with the team as it transitions from Racing Point to Aston Martin. Both drivers were on hand for the launch alongside actress Gemma Arterton, team principal Otmar Szafnauer, the team’s technical director David Green, Aston Martin Lagonda CEO Tobias Moers and Aston Martin Chairman Lawrence Stroll.
