Just before taking to the circuit in a delightful Mercedes-Benz 300SL for the IWC Moment, David Coulthard chatted with GRR's Henry Hope-Frost about everything from racing an Austin A30 to his thoughts on the forthcoming Formula One season.
He talks of his admiration for historic racers, and his own "hilarious and frightening" experience in the all-Austin A30/A35 at last year's Revival. It doesn't sound as though we're going to see him develop a historic racing career any time soon.
The Mercedes-Benz 300 SL he found himself for the IWC moment was rather a different machine to the A30. He describes it as his dream car and curses himself for missing the chance to buy one in the 1990s before values went sky high. He consoles himself with a 1971 Pagoda.
There's just time to share his thoughts on the forthcoming Formula 1 season before we see him take to the track in the Gullwing.
