Video: Chaos in the Weslake Cup

A lot can happen in 40 seconds in motor racing. At Goodwood, that's a decent half a lap's worth. In the raspy ear-splitting and highly competitive Weslake Cup, it was enough time for three competitors to come a cropper.

As we can see in the video above, the pack is tight as the dinky little Weslake A-Series-powered cars scrabbled their way round. We open with the yellow Sprite in hot pursuit, over-cooking it and rapidly swapping ends. Just as he recovers and gets back on the track, he gets pipped by another one and practically absorbs it, before it sits into the tyres and pirouettes back out onto the track in the way of the oncoming pack. Then, in the background, another car spits off going too hot into Madgewick. Utter chaos during one of the most hectic and competitive races of 75MM.
