These glorious sportscars were a fitting way to cap off the 75th Members' Meeting as the sun gave way, presenting an even greater test of a driver’s skill and nerve. Laurie Bennett and his McLaren-Chevrolet M1B set off a chain reaction after spinning in a ploom of tyre smoke, his attempt to merge back onto the circuit took a few by surprise, to say the least. In the end Simon Hadfield in his Lola-Chevy T70 Spyder took victory honours while also being the only driver to crack the 1:20 mark with a 1:19.96 fastest lap.
