This weekend, the Goodwood Motor Circuit will once again play host to the annual Members’ Meeting presented by Audrain Motorsport. Two days of nail-biting action, thrilling demonstrations and fabulous entertainment will play out both on and off track.
If you’re considering coming to this year’s Members’ Meeting, on the 13th and 14th April, here are just some of the things you should make sure you experience while you’re here.
We have 13 races taking place over the course of the weekend and there’s something for everyone in the timetable.
Up to 30 iconic Ford Mustangs will compete for the Ken Miles Cup presented by LGT Wealth Management, all running fully on sustainable fuel. Or, if classic Edwardian monsters are more your thing, the S.F. Edge Trophy will bring the elbows-out action you crave.
And it’s not all about the cars. The Hailwood Trophy will see motorcycles from the ‘70s and ‘80s battling it out on track, too.
You can’t visit the 81st Members’ Meeting on the Saturday of the event and not stay for evening entertainment.
After all the on-track action concludes, our outdoor party gets underway. Enjoy fantastic live music, have fun on the complimentary fairground or treat yourself to some delicious food.
Round the evening off by watching the spectacular firework display that signals the end of Day One of Members’ Meeting.
While the racing makes up the majority of track action at Members’ Meeting, you’ll also be able to enjoy some spectacular demonstrations that are certain to take your breath away.
Bound to be unmissable, whether you like it or not, will be the roar of 20 or so Can-Am cars tearing their way around the Motor Circuit for two demonstrations over the course of the weekend. The rumble of their V8s is going to echo throughout the South Downs, and we simply cannot wait.
We’ll also have a poignant celebration of Niki Lauda. Forty years on from his first Formula 1 win in what would have been his 90th year, his final F1 car, the MP4/2B, will take to the track to rekindle memories of his final F1 season in 1985.
Across the weekend, a selection of sidecars will be taking part in a brand new Sidecar Shootout, a high speed competition made up of a number of different qualifying events for what will be the first contemporary motorsport competition to take place at Goodwood since the circuit originally closed in 1966.
Finally, another icon of F1, Gerhard Berger will be bringing his Ferrari 640 to Goodwood for what is sure to be a spectacular demonstration of its symphonic V12 engine.
The 81st Members’ Meeting is well known as the stage for our House Competition where the four houses of Darnley, Torbolton, Methuen and Aubigny compete for the house shield.
The four new House Captains – Tom Kristensen, Andy Priaulx, Gordon Shedden and Dario Franchitti – will lead their teams of drivers to victory in the races but that’s not the only way the houses gain points.
You can do your part for your house by playing the wide range of games located around the circuit, from duck herding and ferret racing to axe throwing and tug of war, and help see your house to victory.
With everything going on, you’ll need something to keep your energy up. Food at the 81st Members’ Meeting is always available in a wide variety, and there will once again be plenty of options ‘on the table’ for 2024. Hot dinners will be on offer in The Great Hall, while the fleet of mobile catering outlets will have burgers, hot dogs and more on the grill. You can of course treat yourself to a hearty breakfast at the Bill Wisdom Café.
We also have some new options coming to the event this year: For the first time, The Great Hall will also play host to the Sixth Form Common Room which will be serving freshly made salad bowls, wraps and focaccia sandwiches.
Also new is the afternoon tea offering in the Bill Wisdom Café – with a selection of sandwiches, bakes, scones and cakes to keep you going through the day.
Finally, the Bill Wisdom now has a new, relaxed lounge area where you can enjoy coffee and pastries, or a deluxe grazing platter while you rest and recharge before heading back out to the action.
Saturday tickets, weekend tickets and grandstand passes have now sold out for the 81st Members’ Meeting presented by Audrain Motorsport. Sunday tickets are limited so book now to join us for the 2024 motorsport season opener. You don’t want to miss it.
