Saturday morning at the 81st Members’ Meeting
That unmistakable feeling of anticipation has returned to Goodwood, which can only mean one thing. The 81st Members’ Meeting presented by Audrain Motorsport is about to get underway!
As if we needed any more injections of excitement into our bloodstream as the sun rises over the Goodwood Motor Circuit, we’ve taken an early morning walk through the paddocks to take a look at all the incredible machinery set to fire up and take to the track over the next two days.
Among the familiar sights of the Derek Bell Cup with its Formula 3 screamers, and the Gordon Spice Trophy’s Group 1 touring cars, we have some new attractions to pique your interest. Firstly, the Ken Miles Cup presented by LGT Wealth Management, a one-make race of Ford Mustangs all running on sustainable fuels, should be quite the sight, and sound.
Talking of incredible sounds. Although quietly hibernating beneath their covers, an eye-opening collection of savage V8 Can-Am monsters are preparing to unleash their fury upon the Motor Circuit in what is certain to be one of the most astonishing demonstrations we’ve ever seen here at Members’ Meeting.
Elsewhere, the bikes of the Hailwood Trophy also have some friends this year, as sidecars arrive at the Motor Circuit for the first time ready to take part in the inaugural Sidecar Shootout. We’re very excited to see what these extraordinary machines can do this weekend.
The energy is beginning to build here, the weather looks good, the cars are looking as beautiful as ever, and we simply cannot wait to get this 81st Members’ Meeting started. Enjoy the show.
